The season's getting closer, and teams' custom equipment will start hitting the Twitterverse fast and furious. But here we have one of the more interesting and anticipated drops of the season ? the 2012 Fighting Irish gloves from Maverik. After Notre Dame announced their partnership with the New York City-based manufacturer in September and unveiled fresh Notre Dame custom Maybachs, there's been significant expectations for what the follow-up would look like.
An all-gold outfit with a green shamrock is a good starting point. Check out more looks below.
From Maverik: Rome
The Rome is the pinnacle of Maverik's research and development, featuring an all-star roster of Maverik innovations. Johnny Christmas insisted on our new DuraStretch fibers in the palms and fingers for unhindered flex and airflow. SeamlessPalm and Sharkskin add supreme durability and feel. Also new for 2012, Xfoam technology minimizes impact, while the Thermoblast coating ensures maximum cooling and comfort. Rome is Maverik engineering worthy of the gladiators who wear them.
And below, check out a new video from the Fighting Irish outlining the Notre Dame way.
Notre Dame will be heading to Orlando, Fla., at the end of January to take on Jacksonville and the U.S. National Team in exhibitions, then return to South Bend, Ind., to take on Duke on Feb. 18 ? a mere 40 days away.
